Green Days 2011: March 30th-April 1st (Schedule!)

Join us for Green Days, a three-day annual event organised by GAIA to raise awareness about environmental issues.

Green Days 2011 will be held at the University of Iceland from Wed 30 March – Friday 1 April.

This year promises to be our most memorable ever!

Green Days 2010 – Day 3

Final day of Green Days 2010. Today we would like to continue the good event and invite you for the following events:

  • 11:00 – 14:00 Clothes swapping and exhibition (1st and 2nd floor Háskólatorg)
  • 14:00 – 16:00 World café – Topic: Biodiversity (room 301 – 3rd floor Háskólatorg)
  • 19:00 – 21:00 Closing of Green Days 2010 (Nordic House)

Green Days 2010 – Day 2

The Green Days 2010 have been opend on April 7th. Today (April 8th), we would like to invite you for the next events:

Green Days 2010 – Meeting

Hello friends and fellows

As you have maybe heard the Green Days 2010 are going to happen soon. This years Green Days will be an event filled with interesting activities around the theme of “Biodiversity”. But this event can only become better with your help. … and we need your help.

So please join us in our activities to organize it and make it a great event. All small and large help is more than welcome. The Green Days will take place between the 7th and 9th of April at the University of Iceland and maybe other places.

Next meeting to organize it (since we now have a rough schedule and programme) will be on Tuesday 9th of March between 13:30 and 15:00 at 3rd floor meeting place in Gimli. We hope you all can make it.

Gaia invited several Icelandic companies and organisations to join our engagement and come to our fair about “Green Consumerism”. This fair is designed to educate students and personnel at the University of Iceland about sustainable, ‘green’ practices and how to access these options locally.

We intend to give all companies and partners the possibility to get in direct contact with the University community and learn about the great  ‘sustainable’ options available in Iceland. We would like to offer the companies or organistion the opportunity to promote their business and raise awareness of conserned consumption among students and the university personnel.

Have you ever wondered where you should put that empty coke bottle? How about that paper you just printed on? There are so many chances for you to recycle right here at Haskoli Islands!

Learn how you can recycle on campus and at home by visiting Haskolatrog on Monday, March 2nd.

SORPA will present information about recycling in Iceland and how you can make the most of your trash

The City of Reykjavik will present information about how to recycle more efficiently in your home

Gámaþjónustan will share new creative ways that you can reduce the amount of garbage you produce
