The General Annual Meeting took place March 11. Thanks to all of you who attended. However, the main activities carried out by FEDON that were presented at the meeting included:
The recommendations made for revisions to the doctoral grant process;
meetings with Rector, Kristín Ingólfsdóttir, and the incoming Rector Jón Atli, to discuss the role of FEDON; and doctoral student representation at the Graduate School board meetings.
At this meeting, it was decided that there was a need to review the role and purpose of FEDON and how it could be developed to better coordinate and complement other existing university boards.
We still strongly believe that there needs to be doctoral student representation to ensure the needs and rights of student are met. However, the best way to achieve this needs to be reviewed. To this effect, a decision was made and agreed upon to revise the Constitution over the next year to reflect the changes in student needs, the role of the Graduate School and how these influence the development of the doctoral programme.
